Ball and Boots Added to Commemorative Marker

On 19 July, the Phoenix football club added a forged football and boots to the commemorative marker “100 Years of Football in Jõhvi,” crafted by the blacksmiths of the Tallinn forge Aes Triplex.

“We could say that we created this commemorative marker in three stages, adding one element each year,” said Phoenix football club volunteer Vladislav Naumov. “The concrete base and landscaping were completed in 2020, when the Jõhvi sports community celebrated the 100th anniversary of football in the town. The following year, local football veterans helped install the granite plaque engraved with the words ‘100 aastat Jõhvi jalgpalli’. And this year, we were able to complete our original idea: football boots and a ball have now been added to the base.”
