The idea of creating a stamp exhibition arose during the first visit to the museum by renowned philatelist Samuil Golomb. At that time, he was told about several offers from collectors who wanted to sell football-themed stamps. That’s when he decided it was time to dispel the myth of collectors as mere traders. Profit isn’t always the priority, and the “buy and sell” rule doesn’t always apply.
Samuil Golomb selected stamps and envelopes for the gift exhibition from among those of which he had multiple copies. He also turned to two or three friends for help in curating football-related items. Representatives of the Phoenix football club assisted with stamp issues from Moldova and Transnistria.
Later, the collection of postage stamps continued to grow, thanks to Vladislav Naumov.
